Hair Regrowth: Therapeutic Agents

First Paragraphs: Two decades ago hair growth promoters were nonexistent. From a medical perspective, little could be offered to patients with common hair loss problems. Today there are new classes of hair growth promotors with proven efficacy.

This article reviews the current state of the art for two of the most common forms of hair loss encountered in clinical practice, androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata. Current strategies are based on recent advances in the understanding of disordered hair growth.
